Research Committee

The standing committee for research shall be appointed biannually to serve two years.

Functions:
1. Promote collaboration among members in their research endeavours.
2. Facilitate the development of consultation resources for nurses doing research in cancer nursing.
3. Lobby for funding for the conduct of nursing research.
4. Facilitate the development of nursing research findings in practice.

Recognition of Excellence Committee

Activities of the committee focus on valuing all members of CANO/ACIO by recognizing not only their individual efforts to achieve excellence but also by recognizing their efforts as a group of nurses working in a variety of health care settings across Canada who excel in providing cancer care. Specific committee functions include:

  • Receive applications/nominations for awards and select recipients based on objective criteria.
  • Ensure that CANO/ACIO members have access to current information about available awards
  • Network to promote oncology nursing as a specialty not only to our members but also to our corporate partners and other health agencies.

Web Site Committee

The CANO/ACIO web site provides an electronic reflection of the organization and its activities. The Web Site Committee seeks to support the mission and vision of CANO/ACIO and serve CANO/ACIO members through easily accessible and relevant information being posted to the CANO/ACIO web site.


CANO/ACIO Web Site Vision Statement:

CANO/ACIO Website is the primary internet source, reaching out to nurses, health professionals, patients and their families, public and partners to provide connectivity to current, evidence-based guidelines, information, and education profiling the leadership of Canadian oncology nurses in cancer control.
